Jacintha Abisheganaden is well known and very popular Singaporean singer and actress and she is also famous with the name of Jacintha and Ja. She is 59 years old singer and songwriter who produced many popular superhit songs. Her first studio album was Silence in 1983. She is also the founding member of very popular performance company TheatreWorks.
She was born on 3 October 1957 in Singapore to a musician parents. Her father was a Sri Lankan classical guitarist and her mother was Chinese who sang and played the piano. She was studied at the National University of Singapore and completed a degree in arts which is majoring in English Literature. She started learning singing in her teenage on piano and she performed in Singapore Youth Choir also. She came to prominence in 1976 when she won a local television talent competition named as Talentime, Singing Jazz. Ja nabbed the best Female Performer Award also for her amazing role of nurse Angamuthu in General Hospital t Drama Festival. In 1982 she started working as the arts reporter for The Strait Times and interviewed very popular celebs. After this, she did work in many shows and played a very impressive role. In 1983 after getting success she married to American Lawyer named as David Scheffer, but due to some reasons they separated after three years. After this, in 1992 she married to her close collaborator Dick Lee and again divorced in 1997. In 1998 she married again to The Strait Times journalist and again divorced in 2008.
